As the war in Ukraine drags on, the West continues to slap sanctions on Russia, punishing not just its flashiest oligarchs but also the quiet opportunists and profiteers around the world.

The growing list of sanctioned entities now includes a Singapore-incorporated shipping company called Red Box Energy Services, previously helmed by the American-born businessman Philip Jeffrey Adkins.

Brazen listeners may remember Adkins from the podcast series Corinna and the King, in which he was quick to defend Juan Carlos I, the corrupt former Spanish king and call Corinna zu Sayn-Wittgenstein, his ex-wife, and the king’s ex-girlfriend with whom the king was in legal battle, “dangerous and unstable.” (Listen to the episode here!)
